Excite Publishing was founded by a team with over 30 years of publishing experience in the magazine and new media markets.

John Weir was formerly publishing and internet director of the Technology Division at Future Publishing. During his time at Future, he oversaw the launch of more than 30 new products, including consumer magazines, websites, and pioneering digital downloaded magazines and brochures.

Lynda Burgess also worked at Future for over 10 years. In her time there, she variously edited and published a number of magazines, including the highly successful Digital Camera Magazine and Internet Works.
